Dr. Anusha Jegatheeswaran is the 5th John W. Kirklin/David A. Ashburn Fellow in the CHSS Data Center, and began her tenure with us in July 2008. Anusha completed her Honours B.Sc. at the University of Toronto, with a specialist degree in Human Biology. She then earned her medical degree from McMaster University (Hamilton, Ontario) in 2005. She is currently a 4th year resident in Cardiac Surgery at the University of Toronto and will be spending 3 years in the Data Center. While at the CHSS Data Centre, Anusha will be completing a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology with the Department of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation.
Anusha has demonstrated a strong interest in congenital heart disease and cardiac surgery, and has been actively involved in several studies. She has also been the recipient of multiple awards for her research work. During her tenure at the CHSS, she will be funded by a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Junior Personnel Research Fellowship.
After her tenure at the CHSS Data Center, Anusha will complete her Cardiac Surgery Residency at the University of Toronto. She is intending to complete her training with a Fellowship in congenital heart surgery.
